Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDOLPH ALBERT CISZEWSKI Rudolph Albert Ciszewski born December 12, 1921, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Gimli Community Health Centre after a brief illness. Rudy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eileen; two daughters, Elizabeth Lott and MaryAnne McDonald (Don); and five grand-children, Dale Lott (Flo), Cory Lott, Terry Dahl (Cam), Jennifer Comack (Al) and Carla McDonald. Rudy was also proud to say that there are 11 great-grandchildren. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Lena Ciszewski; sister Caroline Adamik, brother-in-law Peter Adamik and nephew Leonard Adamik. Dad and Mom married on July 25, 1942 at the Ciszewski homestead in the Arnes district. Dad and Mom worked long days side by side on the farm that they loved so much. In July of 1978 they retired to Gimli. Very quickly Dad became well known in the neighbourhood for his quick and eager desire to help, whether it was tilling everyone's garden or tinkering in the garage with his best friend and neighbour Nick. He loved fixing his grandchildren's bicycles and always on the ready to give them advice on bike riding. Dad would be seen on his CCM bicycle and tweed cap from early spring till late fall. Dad had a sense of humour like none other. In the fall of 2007, Dad went to live the remainder of his years in Gimli Betel. Three years later Mom joined him and they were inseparable right to the end. Theirs was a true love story. Dad and Gigi we will love and miss you terribly. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 9 (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli. Funeral services will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. R. C. Patel for his compassionate care, we also thank Gimli Betel for being so good to Dad, as well as the wonderful care Dad received at the hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. You are my Sunshine Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
